A Swedish late Gustavian four-door painted vitrine cabinet from the 19th century. This classically designed piece is made in two parts. The upper section features three shelves behind original glass doors. The top of the lower section is framed by carved lamb’s tongue detail. Below there are four doors that open to one interior shelf, all resting on tapered and fluted legs. Circa 1850. Additional Dimensions: Crown molding depth – 14.88 in. Lower cabinet height – 37.63 in. Shelf depth – 11.38 – 11.5 in. The Gustavian style, named after King Gustav III of Sweden, is a restrained interpretation of the French Louis XV and Louis XVI style. King Gustav III was enamored with the neoclassical style and therefore created his own interpretation for Sweden.
