The Story:

A very rare and stunning pair of 18th century limestone staddle stones in superb condition. This fabulous pair of staddle stones will add English charm to any indoor or outdoor space. Found in the Cotswolds. Any moss or lichen will be removed prior to shipment. Staddle stones were originally used to raise barns and granaries off the ground. This kept produce off the damp ground to avoid spoilage. This also prevented mice and other vermin from getting into to the barn or granary as they weren’t able to climb past the staddle stone caps. The base for each is 17.75″ H x 10.25″ W
