The Story:

A rare and monumental pair of Swedish Gustavian chest of drawers with reeded drawer fronts in a neutral, antique cream patina. Each chest has three drawers, brass hardware, and original locks and keys. The apron is framed with dentil molding and the corner posts were formed from rounded, fluted columns. The legs are substantial, fluted, and slightly tapered. The Gustavian Style, named after King Gustav III of Sweden, is a restrained interpretation of the French Louis XV and Louis XVI style. King Gustav III was enamored with the neoclassical style and therefore created his own interpretation for Sweden.
