The Story:

A Swedish country house drop-leaf table in the Gustavian style with a beautiful, chalky patina.  A very practical piece with two large leaves each supported by a pair of gate legs. Seats six comfortably.  When not needed, the leaves drop down out of the way, making a narrow table that is 10.75 inches deep.  Each leaf is 25.44 inches wide.  Total table width with the leaves extended is 61.63 inches. This beautiful gate leg table would also make a beautiful sofa table or console table for a hall.

The Gustavian style, named after King Gustav III of Sweden, is a restrained interpretation of the French Louis XV and Louis XVI style. King Gustav III was enamored with the neoclassical style and therefore created his own interpretation for Sweden.
