An 18th century Swedish (Trågsoffa) from the Rococo period with original linen seat, back, and side cushions. Circa 1770. This is an exceptional and rare period piece that was purchased from a private collection in Belgium. It has been hand-scraped back to reveal the original chalky ivory / white paint and traces of natural wood. This trag sofa bench is in excellent condition with intricately carved Rococo details: flowing curves, cabriole legs, and shell motif. This beautiful Trågsoffa sofa has a patina that only age can provide. The cushions are still covered in the original beige colored hemp linen, circa 1800s. It is simply and purely beautiful.
