This is an exceptional Swedish Gustavian period secretary with library, circa 1780. This secretary has retained its original brass hardware and locks and is wearing black paint on the exterior with beautiful blue paint on the interior. The upper section has three shelves, the top shaped and slotted for utensils and a multitude of small drawers. The slant front opens to reveal six waterfall shaped drawers, four smaller drawers, two pigeon holes, and two narrow pull-out compartments on either side of a center door. Below are two smaller drawers above two full-length drawers. The desk surface height is 29.5 inches and the total depth is 31.5 inches when the desk is open.
