The Story:

A beautiful 18th century Swedish fall-front bureau from the Gustavian period wearing beautiful black paint. Original brass hardware and locks, circa 1790. This secretary displays neoclassical carving such as the dentil molding detail around the top. There are a variety of drawers with a secret door all behind the desk surface. The desk surface is 29.5 inches high.

The Gustavian style, named after King Gustav III of Sweden, is a restrained interpretation of the French Louis XV and Louis XVI style. King Gustav III was enamored with the neoclassical style and therefore created his own interpretation for Sweden.

We offer expedited, fully-insured, custom packaged / crated, domestic and global shipping, including delivery to the door service, delivery to a receiver service, and white glove service, which includes inside setup with debris removal. Please inquire for more information.
