A stunning French commode from the Louis XVI period with a beautifully employed parquetry design on the drawer fronts. The Italian Carrara marble top has canted corners and is original to the piece.  The mellow, time worn patina is original. The corner posts are canted and fluted and raised about round, tapered legs. There is an honest repair to the marble from years ago that adds to the character and history of this beautiful commode.
