A charming French Louis XVI style duchesse brisee in original paint and newly upholstered in antique linen with nail head trim.  Original hemp cushions. Circa 1860.  A pair of bergères (enclosed, upholstered armchairs) separated by an ottoman form a chaise lounge or daybed. A duchesse is a one piece chaise and duchesse brisee means a broken duchesse. Dimensions provided are for the height of the largest bergère and the width of the set combined.  Individual dimensions are:
