The Story:

An 18th century two-part Swedish linen press or armoire from the Rococo period with original bronze hardware, locks, and keys. This cabinet is beautifully proportioned with a gracefully arched pediment cornice, scalloped apron, and cabriole legs. The antique patina is a neutral, light ivory / gray with wood showing through in areas. The interior paint is original and the upper section contains three fixed shelves, the top shaped and slotted for spoons. The bottom cabinet has two large drawers and two small drawers. A grand size with excellent storage.

A linen press is a piece of furniture traditionally used to store and press linens, such as sheets, pillowcases, and towels. Typically, these cabinets consists of an upper section with shelves and a lower section with drawers. Today, linen press cabinets are often used to store barware, glassware, dinnerware, table linens and to display collectibles or to store flat screen televisions and audio equipment.
