The Story:

A Chinese Han dynasty unglazed terracotta ‘belly’ jar or ‘Hu’ that has been mounted as a table lamp. Unglazed pottery like this dates to the Han dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). This lamp is wired for use in the U.S. The vase or jar has a beautifully aged, gray patina and is belly-shaped with decorative incised rings. The electrical cable is installed at the base of the lamp pole, so not to damage the jar. The vase dimensions are 10.75 inches high x 10.75 inches in diameter.
