A carved Swedish Gustavian period daybed, signed ILG for Johan Lindgren, Stockholm. Johan was a master chair maker in Stockholm from 1740-1800. This beautiful, circa 1780 daybed has been hand-scraped to reveal the original paint surface and newly upholstered in linen. The frame features carved bell flowers and acanthus leaves with rosettes on the leg posts. Baluster sides with carved laurel leaves. This sofa would be stunning in a front entry, hallway, sitting room, or bedroom.
