A large Chinese Han dynasty unglazed terracotta 'belly' jar or 'Hu' that has been mounted as a table lamp. Unglazed pottery like this dates to the Han dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). The vase has a beautiful gray patina and is belly-shaped with decorative incised rings around the mid-section and rests upon three legs in the shape of a standing bear. The vase dimensions are 10.88 in. high x 11.5 in. in diameter. The electrical cable is installed at the base of the lamp pole, so not to damage the jar. Wired for use in the U.S.
