THE STORY:

Pair of Swedish stools from the 19th century with slight saber legs, displaying clean neoclassic details on the arms and newly upholstered in de Le Cuona Urban Linen, color stone.  Circa 1880.

The Gustavian style, named after King Gustav III of Sweden, is a restrained interpretation of the French Louis XV and Louis XVI style. King Gustav III was enamored with the neoclassical style and therefore created his own interpretation for Sweden.
