A pair of Swedish Gustavian period armchairs in original paint with barrel backs. Circa 1790. These comfortable chairs have been newly upholstered in antique French linen. There is laurel leaf carved molding along the back frame ending in subtle scroll arms. The seat frame also has carved laurel leaf molding with rosettes on each corner post. The round, tapered legs are fluted with lotus blossom carvings at the top.
