19th Century French Butcher / Pastry Table

THE STORY: 

Very unique 19th century French butcher table - pastry table with an elegant, classically designed lyre base and original marble top. This lovely table has a particularly beautiful, aged red patina and was found in a small village of Provence.

The French table du boucher, or butcher table, has been a Maison & Co. favorite for some time. These beautiful tables are typically 19th century and feature a cast and wrought iron base with a marble top. Some were used to prepare meat, while others were reserved as presentation tables in the shop's window. These tables are often referred to as pastry tables, but in most cases the primary purpose was for use in a butcher shop. The butcher table gets its character from the base.

Butcher tables are a natural fit in a kitchen. We love them as a small island when extra counter space is needed. They also make great dessert or cocktail tables when entertaining or charming bedside tables.
