Chinese Han Dynasty Period Unglazed Grain Jar as Antique Table Lamp

THE STORY: 

A Chinese Han dynasty unglazed terracotta grain jar with a beautiful grey patina that has been mounted as a table lamp. Unglazed pottery like this dates to the Han dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). This lamp is wired for use in the U.S.

The jar is domed with a cylindrical body that is decorated with incised rings and rests upon three legs in the shape of a standing bear. The vase dimensions are 14.5 in. high x 9 in. diameter. 

The lampshade is handmade in Belgium of fine linen and has a high quality, gold foil inner lining. The lining prevents light from showing through the shade and casts a warm light.
